On my outing today I stopped by Snap Kitchen to snag their chicken things tacos to have for dinner.
I jokingly told my friends that I’ve become everything I hate about food critics. You see, Snap has a deal where food that’s on its sell-by date is marked down, and I snagged tacos that were in that predicament. But after mentioning my blog to the cashier, he insisted on swapping them for fresher ones without charging me the difference. I told him he really didn’t have to do that, but he wanted me to have the best possible specimen for tasting.
The verdict? Pretty dang good. The smoky tinga sauce was savory and delicious. The cabbage added some good crunch but not overbearingly so due to being cooked with the taco. The lime wedge added great brightness. I was even impressed by the Paleo tortilla, which reminded me of a corn tortilla in texture but held up better like flour. A bit on the wet and messy side but satisfying and good overall.
