A few weeks ago I found myself craving tacos and driving, so I ended up making my way to Arlington to try a couple spots that were open a bit later.
Taqueria Taxco is a nice little counter-serve spot with a small but cozy patio and dining room, plus a drive-thru option. The trompo was visible from the counter area and made for a visually exciting feature. I tried it, plus the simple ground beef tacos. Both were good examples of standard taqueria fare — decently seasoned and accompanied by a good selection of toppings. I may have had a less stellar experience due to ordering ahead and picking up slightly late. Still worth the trip.
Somewhat nearby, I also tried the pastor from Tu Taco, a taqueria with an upscale fast-food vibe and what appeared to be custom paintings on the walls. The pastor meat was tender and moist, almost juicy, and with the cilantro and onion toppings, the taco made for an excellent, balanced bite.
