I recently decided to try the newest taco experience to move into the gas station around the block from my apartment.
The birria quesatacos were phenomenal. Melted cheese and soft but structurally sound tortillas carried the rich taste of the birria and helped soak up the savory consommé. The pastor street tacos were also good; not especially earthy or spicy, but seasoned well with the tell tale taste of achiote and some fruity notes.
I’ve learned to never turn down a gas station taco just because of its provenance, and this is a shining example of why. I hope this taqueria finds success in the neighborhood and breaks the streak of short-lived restaurants nearby.
