Late last fall, I found myself in Alma, TX fortuitously crossing paths with my friend Niki, a long haul truck driver, their stopping point for the night being along my travel route to a weekend cabin getaway. Just on the other side of the highway from that Love’s: Alma Smokehouse BBQ.
Trucker-approved by virtue of the big rigs out front, they’ve got several great protein options and Niki was very pleased with a sampler of several of them. I was also pleased with my brisket tacos: smoky, tender, lightly covered with cheese and pico for contrast, and enhanced well by the sweet and tart BBQ sauce. Definitely worth the stop.
