I set out recently to hit up a Saturday morning Bad Spanish popup, but showed up after Billy sold out. So instead I popped over to Velvet Taco and snagged a few new menu items to try.

The limited edition French Dip was my favorite, combining rich and hearty filling with a savory, flavorful au jus. The others were great as well; the green chile pork was decent enough but not a standout. The cauliflower was surprisingly crispy and flavorful and gave a sense of heartiness while remaining low calorie. I’d definitely get it again.
